Powerscourt Distillery and Visitor Centre spans 22,000 square feet of operational plant and public-facing hospitality. Energy is both a running-cost line item and a story visitors are told on every tour. Powerscourt engaged MarVal Power to build a solar solution that would materially reduce energy costs, enhance sustainability credentials, and align with the estate's wider environmental-stewardship programme.

MarVal Power designed and implemented an optimal solar PV solution across the operational plant. The 66 kWp array of 160 Tier-1 panels was engineered to match the site's daytime distillation, warehousing and hospitality load, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources and providing a more diversified, resilient supply that quietly de-risks the distillery from grid volatility.

The project represents a significant step toward energy cost reduction, environmental sustainability and energy independence. The distillery is contributing to a more sustainable future while maintaining the exceptional quality of its whiskey production and visitor experience, 32.7 tonnes of CO₂ avoided each year, and a genuinely defensible sustainability story visitors can see on the roof.
