Deli Lites40 kWp toward net carbon neutral

Deli Lites is a major cross-border sandwich and food-to-go manufacturer supplying retail and food-service across Ireland and the UK. The challenge was clear: reduce carbon emissions, drive up energy efficiency across the plant, and contribute to a cleaner future, while holding onto the reliability and cost discipline that food-manufacturing customers demand.

MarVal Power designed and installed a 40 kWp rooftop photovoltaic system, generating approximately 35,000 kWh of clean energy every year, sized to match the plant's daytime production and refrigeration draw so that as much of each kWh as possible is consumed on site rather than exported. It's the anchor asset in Deli Lites' broader sustainability programme.

The project has reduced Deli Lites' carbon emissions by 7 tonnes annually and given the business a working, measurable rooftop generation asset to build on. Combined with efficiency measures already under way at the plant, this system is a concrete step toward Deli Lites' stated goal of net carbon neutrality by 2025, and a template that can be scaled across the wider estate.
