Brandon House Hotel210 kWp on a working 4-star hotel
New Ross, Co. Wexford · Hospitality · Installed 2024
The brief
Brandon House Hotel is a busy 4-star property in New Ross, Co. Wexford. The client wanted to cut a meaningful slice of the hotel's electricity bill and carbon footprint, but the standout challenge was integration: any solar PV system had to slot cleanly onto the existing roof and into a live hospitality plant room, without impacting guests, staff, or event trade during installation.
MarVal Power designed a 210 kWp rooftop system built around 508 Longi 415W Tier 1 modules, an array sized and orientated for the hotel's actual daytime consumption pattern (kitchens, laundry, HVAC, function rooms) rather than a peak-only kWp headline. Meticulous phasing of the roofworks and electrical tie-in meant the install ran with zero impact on hotel operations.
The system now delivers 185.5 MWh of clean electricity annually, 14% of Brandon House Hotel's total consumption, and avoids the equivalent of over 60 tonnes of CO₂ every year. Beyond the numbers, the hotel now anchors its sustainability story with a physical asset guests can see from the front lawn: a template for hospitality operators looking to lead on renewables in the sector.
