Boland's51 kWp on a landmark motor dealership

Boland's set out to evaluate whether commercial solar PV was a viable investment for their Wexford operations, driven by both shifting economics in the renewables sector and a genuine commitment to cutting the dealership's carbon footprint. They needed a design that would deliver the numbers, but also fit cleanly onto an active retail-and-workshop site without disrupting trading.

MarVal Power installed a 51 kWp rooftop system using high-quality smart PV modules manufactured by Longi, paired with SMA inverters, a Tier 1 stack chosen for the long-term efficiency, monitoring granularity and warranty position that dealership finance teams look for. The install ran end-to-end with zero interruption to showroom or workshop operations.

The system now generates roughly 174,000 kWh of clean electricity per year, covering 17% of Boland's electricity demand and shielding a meaningful slice of their bill from wholesale price swings. Modelled over the life of the asset, total savings comfortably exceed €360,000, while cutting 14.2 tonnes of CO₂ every year and reinforcing Boland's position as a forward-thinking, sustainability-led business.
