SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant
This one is a bit of a mouthful - the NDMG or Non-Domestic Microgen Grant is the SEAI's catch-all grant for non-residential solar installations, including businesses, commercial solar, schools and other public buildings, farms, non-profit organisations and community centres.
This grant applies for solar panel systems from 1kWp right up to 1,000 kWp. There's no grant outside these limits. The maximum grant is €162,600, which you get for system of 1,000 kWp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most businesses see electricity bill reductions of 40-70%. A typical 30kWp system can save €8,000-€12,000 annually on electricity costs. With the SEAI grant reducing initial investment, payback periods are typically 3-5 years, after which you enjoy free electricity for 20+ years.
The complete process typically takes 8-12 weeks from initial consultation to system commissioning. Grant approval takes 2-4 weeks, equipment ordering 2-3 weeks, and installation 1-3 days depending on system size. We manage the entire timeline to minimize delays.
No, the grant must be approved before any equipment is purchased or installation begins. If you've already installed solar panels, you may be eligible for other SEAI schemes or could expand your existing system with grant support for the additional capacity.
Through the Microgeneration Support Scheme (MSS), you can sell excess electricity back to the grid and receive payment through the Clean Export Guarantee (CEG). This provides additional revenue stream, typically earning 15-24c per kWh exported.
Yes! Solar panels work on daylight, not direct sunlight. Ireland receives sufficient solar radiation for effective PV generation. Modern panels are highly efficient even in cloudy conditions, and Ireland's moderate temperatures actually improve panel efficiency compared to very hot climates.
Solar panels require minimal maintenance. Annual inspections and occasional cleaning (usually by rainfall in Ireland) are typically sufficient. We offer comprehensive maintenance packages including monitoring, cleaning, and inverter servicing to ensure optimal performance throughout the system's 25+ year lifespan.
