Riverside Park Hotel, is a contemporary 4 star prominent hospitality establishment in the picturesque town of Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. It was clear from the beginning that the team at Riverside understood the important role they have to play in terms of protecting the environment and reducing their carbon footprint.

As part of their sustainable energy strategy, they have embraced green technologies by deciding to invest in a solar PV system. Designed and installed by MarVal Power this is significantly reducing their environmental impact as well as their operational expenses.

Project Challenges

Addressing the Unique Project Constraints Associated with Riverside Park Hotel
Installing solar panels on the existing hotel building presented some unique challenges. We had to consider factors such as available roof space, architectural compatibility, and aesthetic integration with the hotel’s design. Our team meticulously addressed these constraints to provide a seamless and visually appealing solution.

As well as this, the hotel also had two different roof layouts, one pitched and also a flat roof. This required two different types of mounting structures as part of the design features.

In addition, we wanted to ensure that there was minimal disruption to hotel guests when the PV system was switched over to their connection. Therefore, a shutdown was arranged at 3am in order to facilitate this.

3. State-of-the-art Inverters.

Our installation included 612 Longi 415W solar panels and 2 x 110kW SMA cutting-edge Core 2 inverters that efficiently converts the DC energy produced by the solar panels into usable AC power, enhancing overall system performance.

4. Remote Monitoring System.

We implemented a sophisticated monitoring system that allows Riverside Park Hotel’s management to track energy production, identify potential issues, and optimize system performance remotely.
